Waka Experience

On the 3rd of March we went on a marae stay, Discovery went on a waka experience at the lake front, when we got there we had to split into two groups. Each waka hold's 22 people on 1 waka.

Before we could hop in the waka we had to put on a life jacket and get a paddle and learn paddle moves and when we completed we got to go on the waka. When we started we hit the wall, then we got of the wall we took. Then at the end we had a race back to shore, and we won of course.

When we got back we had to carefully put the waka back on the trailer, and row by row we got out then we walked back to the marae.

In the class

In room 4 the Discovery Academy we have a class of 34 students and two teachers Mrs Goldsworthy and our teacher aid Mrs Douglas.

The Discovery Academy is made up of 3 class rooms, there's room 4, room 5 and there's room 6.
Every academy at Kaitao has an academy leader, our academy leader is Mrs Edwards.

Our academy does plenty of enjoyable things on computers. We have an computer expert called Mr Fowler, he helps us learn things on computers like building websites, animations and interactive school newsletter sites.

So I think that room 4 is the best class at Kaitao.
